No argument there. Too bad they can't test for good vs lousy drunk drivers, lol. I made it to my age without a DUI, and plan to keep it that way.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I was a pro in my early-mid twenties. VERY ashamed at some of my one eyed adventures following five too many at the bar. Thing was almost EVERYONE I knew in Stowe at the time got DUIs. 90 days license suspension, a few classes and about 4 grand and you were done. The possibility for jail time might have scared me to be a bit more responsible back then.

For whatever reason I woke up one morning realizing how stupid I was and stopped.

At the local bar I go to..there are some regulars who drink 8 beers in 2 hours..then drive to another bar. The bartender never cuts these people off and never asks them if they'd like them to call a cab..because I believe if they interfere..it will cost them their tips. When I lived in Montana I knew a few people who said they were a good drunk driver....lol..and they could barely park their car along a curb. My old roommate in Montana got a DUI and on top of the fines and such his penalty was 1 day in jail. This was not a don;t drop the soap in the shower jail. It was Gallatin county jail..where they play ping pong and watch Jerry Springer..

Even though the two bars I frequent the most are less than a mile away...if I've had more than a few drinks..I leave my car and walk home..then the next morning..I wake up 15 minutes earlier and pick up my car..and pat myself on the back..hardly anybody does that..

A kid I went to school with recently was driving 70mph in a 30mph zone..skidded into a tree on a slight curve and the passenger in his car died. He is currently serving a 2-3 year sentence for involuntery manslaughter and his Dad is a lawyer..a pretty lenient sentence considering he cut a girls life short by 60 years..

I never drove fast when I was drunk. In fact, I got pulled over in upper N. NJ one thanksgiving nite in my 68 camper with CT plates for driving too slow. I was drunk, but the cop didn't notice.

My friend told me that when he drives stoned..he tends to drive slow..so that if he doesn't get pulled over for speeding with his car reaking of weed..

Doesn't everyone drive and ski slower when stoned? For the first 20 minutes skiing stoned is fun, then I get hungry and cottonmouth. Driving stoned sucks, especially at night in the rain or fog.

Personally I don't drink and then ski. When the day is over, it's time to have one or ten. For me drinking and skiing at the same time takes away from the experience. If you want to have one or two at lunch, all the power to you. But people getting wasted and skiing pisses me off, you ARE putting skiers and riders at risk, just because you wanted to get drunk and pretend you can 'handle it' and ski.
