Mustards are an underappreciated condi, fer sure. Lotsa great varieties and are a good ingredient for bastes and sauces. Makes me wanna grill up a kielbasa with sourkraut, relish and mustard......mmmm
Thanks for the lunch idea. I enjoyed it very much.
Lil brat, lil kraut, lil mustard. mmmmmmmmmmmmm! Top it off with a nice cold bottle of vernors! Perfection!

These though appear to be a SERIOUS food violation and aren't even worthy of plain yellow mustard!

^^^^^^I've been known to eat vegetarian cuisine upon occasion, but even I think that is wrong on sooooooo many levels!

First, what's that slimy looking green stuff on the tofu brats? Yuk!

Members of my family went thru what I would call their "vegitarian period". I always had to make tofu dogs along side the good ones. In a diferent pan or area of the grill, of course. One winter night I decided to try and cure their affliction by suggesting we boil the dogs, like they did at the ballpark in the old days. After eating round one they came up to the stove for seconds and asked where the tofu dogs went. When I pointed to the reddish blobs in the water it grossed them out and they stopped asking for them.

Adding to DHS's point, it always amazed me that when I went to the grocery store to stock up on Morningstar or Boco veggie items they wanted its all made to ressemble meat. I mean what IS up with that.
To be honest, some of it doesn't taste too bad but I prefer my food to do abit better than that on the satisfaction scale.

I dig mustard in all forms, from cheap yellow for hot dogs to whole grain mustard with lamb, meat and sauces. It is also a good flavor enhancer and emulsifier for various salad dressings.

Great call. I need to get up to my german butcher and replenish. Having spent 13 years in Germany as a youngster with german family living there, I have had my fair share of german meat treats. The deli I go to is as good as any deli in germany. I send care packages of brats and assorted treats to my bro in NH for his bday every year.

Thanks for the link..I'm in Philly about once every two weeks this time of the year on Business and I want to check out the store. We have a store called Mr. Dunderbachs in the Lehigh Valley Mall which is a German restaurant. They have dozens of different beers..all kinds of German beers and other beers from around the world..

Kewl. If you want some suggestions when you go, let me know. There's all kindsa stuff you may never have tried, like the veal loaf (Fleischkaese) that rocks.
