I like all 3 forums, "snoheads" too. All have a very different personality and you need to adapt your style a bit I think to each......

I've visited the PMTS forum quite a bit too but the lack of discussion regarding anything other than technique wears even this technique junkie out.....

I admit also to finding the tongue in cheek trash talking back and forth between TGR and Epicski very entertaining. Many of the maggot comments are especially hilarious.

And the source was qualified to pass judgment? While (s)he is entitled to their opinion, it is not necessarily truth.

It's like comparing bars, restaurants and hotels. They're different, so just deal with it. That's why we have the Stowe Taj Mahal and the State of VT Bunkhouse.

I feel no need to cast aspersions on other discussion groups. Public discourse, of all forms is healthy.

Problem with discussion groups is that everyone appears relatively equal. Put them in a room together, you'd get a very different dynamic - some wallflowers, some band leaders. Live and let live.
