Nice! There are some good conditions out there. Trees are in play in N VT.Too many people have been whining on this board, and not getting out and getting some.

Good to know, because they are not in play anywhere else, unless you're willing to ruin your skis. Even rock skis won't do. We need a dump in central/so. Vt/NH/ADK. Perhaps the late week storm delivers. Pray to Ullr.

Untrue....Saddleback's woods are all set to go....no worries in there....snowpack has held up surprisingly well up there. Course it's a long drive for many but if you know where to look in New England some really good turns can be had right now.

Saddleback counts as the end of the world as well. It's not closer for most than N Vt.

Wow, those are some high standards for an honest attempt to share a positive light in an otherwise gloom doom.

Honestly, there is no hardpack in the untracked, at least down to 2500' or so. You've got to be able to ski some variable conditions, like crust and funk, but only the trodden stuff is trodden. Elevation, location, and actual visitation do matter, even in today's enhanced internet experience-machine.

I've gotten excited over two inches this year. Last year, it would have been laughable. But as others say, you take what you can get. I've touched some good woods this year, but I still tread carefully thanks to all these weather changes. It's kind of too bad, since I'm in way better shape and am skiing much better this year than in several years.

Went in woods at both Stratton and Okemo this weekend (2/11-2/12). Both had a dusting on top of a solid crust that couldn't be penetrated. Borderline unsafe if you ask me so make sure you're north of both those areas before you go charging in looking for fresh.

Love Saddleback!!

Hit Sunday River and Loon last week. Skiied Saddleback this weekend...Their snow is simply better and there's more of it up there...All glades are in play and with any luck they'll be powder up there this weekend. In a winter that's produced very little snow so far, Saddleback is even more appreciated.

Tip: ski Muleskinner. There's typically blown in boot deep powder skier's left even if it hasn't snowed in 2 weeks.

+1 Muleskinner is a bit of a PITA to get out to but is prob my favorite trails on the mtn when the snow is good. I may be up at Saddleback in 2 wks from now.

Intended to get with it and get some more time in over at the Loaf yesterday...I can time em' right eh'..LOL. Passed over a 20s day(Sat) for AM temps around zero yesterday. Think Wednesday will have to do.
Very nice pic JohnA....if you only knew how many hours I put in re-stretching the forefoot/toebox area in those Endorphins a number of years back:roll:.
