My club (ACE) had it's ticket mail sale in June/July, since SkiNH and and SkiVT restructured their offerings, it was quite a challenge for us to minimize the financial risk to the club.
At our monthly meetings, we'll be selling "leftover" tickets that we didn't sell during the summer. Because we want to encourage meeting and activities, we have ticket drawings at every meeting. Matt from Magic will be presenting at our September meeting and is planing a drawing too. Then there are tickets that you can buy from EICSL through our club, usually in October, mostly for NH and ME ski areas. Lastly are the club recognition events you speak of.
Since you're interested in a nearby club, probably CT or LI clubs would suit you better. Your choice.
