I am a fairly advanced skiier and generally ski out west, in Europe (with family) or up in VT (usually Killington or Stowe). I was planning on going to Killington this weekend, but I got sick and decided not to go. Horrible decision. Now I'm feeling better and I'm missing 15 inches of powder up north.
I'm looking to at least partly make up for my mistake by going skiing tomorrow (Sunday). I live in southwest CT, and I was wondering what the best place to ski is around here (within 2.5 hrs). I've heard that Ski Sundown and Mohawk are decent for the area, so I would probably be trying out one of those areas. I really enjoy bump skiing, and I've heard that Mohawk has the best bump runs around here, but according to Weather.com and Onthesnow.com, Mohawk got 3" of snow compared to Sundown's 12. I find this hard to believe considering their proximity to eachother. Also, Mohawk's website says they got 15".
Could anyone who's been to either recently recommend one or the other, and if anyone has been to either after yesterday's storm, could you please tell me how the snow is? Thanks for your help.
