Sorry to interupt the great blizzard skiing discussion-
GF and I have had this trip booked to alta since september and we're really stoked. We leave in three weeks and I figured it was time to ask a few questions to the learned members of this forum. We're staying at the Goldminers daughter and my questions are as follows:
1. What's the deal with breakfast- is it buffet? and what time does it open ( we like to get to the lifts as soon as they open)
2. Dinner- casual clothes right? jeans and hoodie?
3. Where do you keep your skis? Lockers? In your room? Ski check?
PM if you want-

IMHO, it is not terribly nice. Check the Peruvian or Snowpine for about the same price. Check the western forum, as well as the Alta website for more ideas. Good luck.

I've stayed their multiple times. I love it. Only thing the sucks is the hot tub is indoors, this might have changed recently though. Breakfasft is buffet or made to order eggs. Dinner is casual and usually good food, you can to chose from App, soup, main and dessert. I've stayed in most of the places up at Alta and think they are all on par with eachother. Does it really matter where you stay when you're right there? I hope your awake to those bombs going off!

Yea-- that's great. Troll.

Anyway-- We picked it for three reasons-
1. Fits in budget.
2. Walk to lift with no transfer tow
3. Ummm it's in alta.

No reallly so far good news on food. I'm stoked to not worry about what's for dinner and just show up and open mouth-shovel food.

keep the stoke coming -I'll pay back with loads of pictures.

A colleague of mine stayed there and really liked it. Said the food was good and it was very convenient and relaxing. I don't know any details about how the meals are organized. Lifts at Alta don't start running til about 9:15 so you shouldn't have any trouble making first chair. Except for maybe beating out some of the Alta regulars. We were in Utah in January. One thing that I really noticed was that it stayed dark til later in the morning, but also stayed light later in the evening than here. Of course, that may change by the time you visit. But it made sense that the lifts didn' start running earlier cause of the morning light. You'll have a great time!
