This one hits home for me.My feet have gotten colder as I have gotten older.Heres my routine to combat that, much of which has already been said.Number enemy is moisture.Buy a boot dryer that moves air and dry them after every use.I don't pull my liners everytime but I'll check every other weekend to see if there is moisture in the shell.Dry feet is next.I always put my ski socks on right when I boot up cuz my feet will sweat a little on the way to the mountain and I'm only 1 minute away.I use a good thin sock.I use spray anti perspirant that goes on powdery.Even having done these steps, over the years my feet have started to get colder more and more. This year I broke down and bought something I thought I never would, boot heaters.I ended up buying Hot Feet brand after a couple of friends installed them in their boots.Big difference!Easy install but I did them a little different than what was mentioned here.Them element portion of the system is very thin and is not even noticable after install.I stuck mine to the top of my footbed and applied the supplied cambry liner over that.I made a small hole in the toe area of the liner to run the wire through.I then ran the wire on the bottom outside edge of the liner, then up the back.I did not want to have the wire under my foot. All the wire is held in place with the almighty duct tape. This process was very easy and probably took me 20 minutes for the pair on my first install. The system I bought was very affordable at $149.The kicker was that it comes with 4 NMH bateries and 2 chargers for that price. So I change batts at noon.Great deal.I also bought extension wires to run up my pants and I clip my batteries to my belt/suspenders.This keeps the batts warm to last longer and off of your boots so they don't get knocked off or in the way.( And nobody knows you have them)OK so how do they perform? If you expect them to be hot you will be disapointed.Mine suppossedly maintain a certain temp. There are no different settings as in other brands. They are either on or off.I'm very happy with the result as they keep my feet neither hot nor cold.If I shut them off for a 20 minutes or so I can really feel the difference.I always had to take my boots off to warm my toes but no more.I'm sold on these things as they really let me stay all day.I bought these on-line from the manufacturer and had them in 3 days.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Corn Starch (Baby Powder), shake it in the Socks at the Toe ends then a little in your boots at the Toes, Works Great, wicks the moisture from your Toes and keeps them dry. Another thing that works well is to Spray your feet with Right Guard or Old Spice, keeps them dry and warm.

I can move my toes but not much. The boots are snug and after I had put in the toe warmers, the pain/cold toes did not get any better. I already wear very thin socks.

I already have custom insoles that I paid more than $600 for. So I would rather not have to replace them.

Go to your boot fitter and say, 'WTF?'.

you put the toe warmers on top of your foot, right? there should be enough room there. if for any reason you put them under your toes, you'll have a miserable experience. may seem like a stupid question but i've seen many people do it.

i use hotronic AND disposable toe warmers AND spray anti perspirant and my toes still are white when i take off the boot. i guess years of doing this makes me numb (pun intended) to the whole cold feet story.

I used to have cold toe problems with my old boot but my new boots seem to have mitigated that somewhat (so, step one is actually getting a good boot that fits). The only time I had cold toes this year was when I skied SR at -12F last MLK. Needed to thaw my foot by the fireplace. Otherwise, I'm fine.

I basically do what the others have suggested:

- change socks at the lodge after driving up
- powder my feet
- put on thin ski socks (Bridgedale and Fox River work best for me)
- lightly buckle the lower 2 buckles on the boot after I've walked around the lodge a bit
- eat body fuel on the lift (granola/Clif/Odwalla bars or chocolate)
- change into new socks for the drive home.

Works like a charm.
