SR Sat and Sunday. Sat is MHS orientation so I will sneak in a couple of runs before it starts. I will get more runs in Sunday and or course I am looking forward to it. Costs are fixed and fun is on the agenda.

Hard to justify the cost in terms of time or expense for the limited terrain.

However, its awesome weather for biking. I got out on the bike mon, tues and wed, mornings this week. I'll definitely be in the saddle both Saturday and Sunday. Probably one day on the road, one day on the trails!

Nope, skied last weekend. I wouldn't mind skiing again this weekend, but I'm not going to drive 6+ hours to ski the same couple of trails again.

Nope. Ski show last night. Brewing a stout tomorrow that should be a nice apres treat down the road.

Turn a bad situation into something good. Go visit your long lost relatives, do those domestic chores, visit Aunt Bertha, all the while tell them that you're giving up a day of skiing/boarding to be with them because they are soooo special. Extra domestic/family credit accrued. They have no clue what's on the mountain anyways.8)

Most of my relatives wouldn't believe that there's any ski areas open right now anyway.

Planning on hiking this weekend (not for turns). Considering hiking up to the Popular Steam Falls Hut on Maine Huts and Trails out of Carrabassett valley after getting the planks out of summer storage.

Bump! Looking forward to skiing this weekend because of the new snow, much expanded terrain, and because most other major resorts are finally open which should take some of the load off Killington.....hopefully it won't be nearly as crowded as last weekend!

I bet that you'll still see very healthy crowds this weekend. Still have 1 weekend between this one and and christmas to finish up last minute things(holiday prep procrastination justification!) and the 1st real storm of the year that affected the metropolitan areas. Combine that with how cr@ppy the weather was up until about a week ago for the masses, and you've got a large base of the 5 to 10 days a year crowd that is primed and ready. $$ will be made by ski resorts across the Northeast this weekend!

We may see as many or more people (numerically) this weekend at Killington, but with snowshed and superstar open, it will spread people out MUCH better.

I was halfway down the page before I realized this thread was a few weeks old. What a painful month of waiting that turned out to be, but all is now right again with the world.

I am so pumped to get out this weekend... Put a fresh layer of wax on the new sticks last night... Will pack the car as soon as I get home and wait for the girlfriend to get out of work.

I am also looking forward to my first day out this weekend.

I am thinking Stratton or Mount Snow saturday and Jiminy peak on sunday to avoid youth pay their age day crowds at MS and be 1/3 of the way back to NYC (the back way, route 2 to the Taconic) when I finish skiing at Jiminy peak sunday afternoon.

I haven't skied at Jiminy before but often drive by it, so I thought I would give it a try.:spread:

I too read a few of the old post before I noticed they were old.
Heh, same here. Got to Riv's complaint re price/terrain before I realized something was awry.

Eyeing forecasts and trying to come up with a plan for Sun and/or beyond. Gotta get stuff done around the house too and I'm not doing that right at this moment ... ktnxbye

Hell yeah, I just found out 5 minutes ago that one of the local places is opening this weekend (Mt. Peter) so I'll be taking my son there Sunday and I might have to sneak there by myself on Saturday. Until 5 minutes ago I thought my season was going to start Thursday at the earliest, now I'm much happier.
