Some things you can just see coming in certain types of forum threads. For instance, as soon as someone starts a thread that lists a ski rags top 10 area list the following replies will happen:

  • I’m glad my favorite mountain isn’t on it.
  • The mountains that advertise the most get the highest ratings.
  • Posers vote in these polls that’s way ___________ Mt. is on it. People who are real skiers go other places.
  • Yeah, MRV isn’t on the list cause it sucks, don’t ANYONE ever go there (hehehe)

So what other type of tried and true threads deliver the posts you know will be there before you even open it?

BTW, whenever someone comes with a don’t ANYONE ever go there take it always puts a smile on my face.

Ignoring the reality that MRV resorts are darlings of the Ski press. :)

As far as predictable, any thread involving mrg and snowboarding is like a text version of groundhog day.

Any topic that mentions skiing in NY, somehow will have some psot that makes a negative comment about Hunter, even when not even talking about Hunter in the slightest way, then Hunter is defended.

PS, I like Hunter.

Threads like this - where someone brings up how we defend Hunter from the Pennsyvanians...
But it's not every little thing.. It's the ugly things I defend.....

Very true, you can pretty much take any of the MRG v Snowboarder threads and interchange them, and no one would now the difference. That said, for some reason I always find them interesting and entertaining and read every post. They always go long too, usually 100+ posts.

It's like that on each and every messageboard..

And with an ever changing audience - I personally feel it incumbent upon myself to get the work out...
If it were the same "cast of characters" - I wouldn't - but inevitably some noob chimes in..

Oh that's another one, talking about a newbie like it's a bad thing, as if we were never one.

(I don't mean the above post.)

I'm ok with a noob that starts slow...
It's the noobs that think they can cut to the front of the "line" and start spewing inaccuracies - that piss me off..

It takes time to become a skier...
