Very unique promotion from the folks at Backcountry.com:

Get Gear Now. Save Money Later Details:

For a limited time:

* Spend $100, Get $20 in January 2009
* Spend $200, Get $50 in January 2009
* Spend $300, Get $75 in January 2009

The amount you spend can be on anything on Backcountry.com excluding gift certificates, lift tickets, tax and shipping. When you spend over $100 in one order, we’ll email you an offer code for $20, $50 or $75 (depending on how much you spent) to use on your first purchase in January 2009.

You get one (1) offer code per $100+ order. So if you drop $300 in one order, you get one $75 offer code, but if you spend $323 in one order and place another order for $304 you get two (2) $75 offer codes. Capisci?

We’ll send your offer code(s) the last week in December 2008 to the email address used on your order. (You’ll just have to trust us on this one.) Redemption is limited to one offer code per order and offer codes are not valid on gift certificates, lift tickets, tax or shipping. Oh, and if you return an item you used the code to purchase, you will receive store credit, not cash money. Code valid from January 1, 2009 - Jan 31, 2009 only.

Offer valid for a limited time only.

Interesting that they let you break up your order so you can maximize the number of offer codes received.

mathematically you're better off purchasing in 200$ increments. there is no incentive to buy 300$ in this promotion
agreed.

but don't fall into the trap of buying something other than what you actually want/need to "save."

QFT.

My mom once came home from a shopping trip with $500 worth of crap, beaming to my father she save $300.

My old man told her not to save him any more money, he can't afford it.
