Anyone skied Berkshire East recently? It's on my radar for a possible day trip and was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with current conditions and available terrain. They list only 20 of 45 trails open, but report that about 80% of their total terrain is open. Is most of the mountain open and in good shape? Thanks.

I've not been this year, but from my past experience, you're going to have pretty limited trail choices, probably most people on a handful of trails. That will be a problem on a busy day.
They were actually closed later than most. And given the miserly mangement approach, I would not expect wall to wall snowmaking. Hate to say this, but I'd go to Crotched before I went to BE this year. What about Jiminy? that might be a better alternative.

I am skiing there Thursday 2/8 with my daughter & her school group, I will post a trip report Thursday night or Friday morning!

I know historically they don't have a reputation for aggressive snowmaking, though I've also been told they're doing a lot better on that front these days. One reason B'East is on my radar is that I was thinking crowds may be smaller and more manageable. Don't recall seeing any recent trip reports from there so I'll be looking forward to your report, jct.

I'm taking tomorrow, 2/16 off, to go there, so I'll report tomorrow. They're reporting 2 feet of fresh from the storm.

Good man! I'm planning on hitting it Monday. No chance of freshies but the place should still be in great shape. Looking forward to your TF.
