However, I think it was Greg who opted to give props to all the Northeast areas for making the best of a bad situation

Congrats to all your local hills for doing well enough (or better) to be here next year (financially) and well enough (or better) experientially to bring us back for next season.
Can't agree more...

I would be more critical of Tenney's lack of open trails, but I didn't expect much from them anyway...

I'd like to see that place get healthy. The new ownership and summer snowmaking of 3? years ago looked promising.

It's on my list of places to try. I think next winter I'll have to take a week off and day-trip my arse off. I'll tell my wife I'm hunting for the perfect place to take her and my daughter (although I keep getting recommended to take them to BW). Hopefully with Mrs Sky's new gear and her recent excellent experience (via private lesson @ Wa), we may eventually take a ski vaca.

I've seriously gotta come and ski Hunter with you, DMC. Great to have you on board here in AZ.

This would be interesting for you TB; we'll make this happen next season.

skiied January 2nd at Sunapee - only time there this season - and it was very good "considering". I remember someone on a lift ride saying they'd been there 4 days earlier and it had been unskiiable.

skiied Cannon the Sunday of the southern blizzard (2nd week of Feb??), I expected very little. The conditions were very good "considering"! I expected - based on reputation - to be taking my life into my hands.

skiied crotched and gunstock the last two weekends and have been pleasantly surprised both times (especially crotched - both from a base depth and grooming perspective).

I even think Wildcat has done a good job with blowing snow.

Any area that is still open needs to be complimented! tough, tough year.

Both of may days at Belleayre where fantastic this year. In early January they where 100% open when I visited, and they had great snowcover last weekend. Considering that they made snow up until last week, they get my vote.

I am hoping to hike for some turns there in May when I start kayaking. Onteora and Yahoo should still have snow at that time.

When they have a lot of guns going it is a sight to see. The manmade blizzard. My vote goes to Hunter as well. They even managed to keep Clairs going all season, which ain't easy.

I'll echo the Cranmore comment.....really not a good year for them.

I skied Bretton Woods on 2 different weekends in March (first year I've ever skied there) -- they really seem to do a good job grooming and making the cover last.
