7 Day pass, could include some black outs and by big mountain, I mean roughly 1500+ vertical and or 200+ acres

I recognize that 'value' means different things to different people. While $99 is an incredibly low price for the pass I bought for Tenney this season, I wouldn't rate it as the best because of the terrain limitations of the area and well it falls short of my 1500 vert criteria.

Cannon for NH residents seems like a darn good value at $500

What place, what's the best price you've seen with early buy ins and what's your reasoning?

I'm biased but I would go with Jay. Not a practical option for most folks that would need to get lodging every weekend and gas would add up as well so the value proposition ends when you reach a certain distance threshold. I would probably get the NH resident pass for Cannon if I didn't have the Jay pass.

Bought the New England Silver pass for $499 last spring. 14 blackout days...days I won't want to go. SR, Loaf, Loon. Best deal I know of.

wasn't sure if that one was $499 or $599. At $499 it is indeed better than the Cannon pass.

rivercoil, how much was your Jay pass? Unfortunately, that distance would never work for me as as a day tripper, I'd want the area to be under 3 hours for me.

My wife and I bought the silver pass also. I thought it was $549 but I could be wrong.

I second River on the Jay pass!

Of course, if you take account snow / vertical and price, you get a lot better value then $towe! Of course, for most people it also adds up to an extra 45min of driving... The best pass they have is for students... something like 279$ and you get Jay, Bolton and Mad River Glen... pretty awsome deal if you're a skier... not so good deal if you're a boarder...

The Jay Pass is 589$ for single adult... don't know how much it is for other similar areas... but Stowe is almost double!

The New England Pass as last spring it was available for $499, and it offers Sugarloaf and Sunday River that have good size and terrain, and Loon Mountain that is a good mountain that is only 2 hours away for people in the Boston, MA area.

Cannon Mountain for NH residents is a good buy as well, still a very reasonable price at $500.

NE Pass is a good deal. Crowded resorts though with blackout dates and none of the areas on the ticket are in the powder belt. Good early/late season options though and reliable good snow making. I think this pass is under valued resulting in over purchasing a la the ASC A41... too crowded for my tastes but definitely one of the best values for people that can over look that issue.

What's the offering from Snow/Attitash/Crotched? That gives a much better regional presentation for a multi-area pass.

I'd say the best student pass is the River, Loaf + Loon pass for $329 - No Blackout days. and it's for anyone up to 28, as long as you are a full time student

The NE pass I bought 4. Early and late turns are very important to me. Skied in oct on my pass and will ski in May on it. Night skiing. An easy day trip, (Loon) my home Mtn SR, and a longer ride, but different Vibe Sugarloaf. I think it was $899 early season. I'll get 80 to 90 days use of of it.

Cannon is a nice cost option.

moose had a great chart on Kzone comparing passes.

I actually thought the K blackout was reasonable this year, and chose that route over Snow. The problem with the Crotched/Snow/Attitash is it was only available as an unlimited (and therefore more $$) pass: no blackout option. Had there been a cheaper blackout option I would certainly have gone that route to get night skiing at Crotched in addition to regular days at Snow.

For a student pass, what about the Triple Major -- Jay, MRG, and Bolton. Was only $269, but now it is $369. Unfortunately I'm not a student and don't live far enough north to take advantage...but that's an amazing deal.

$649 for Whiteface and Gore (non Holiday), or $799 with holidays. Not bad considering their location to each other and the two recent expansions.

Crowded? SR and SL aren't what I would call crowded...Loon yes, but the ME resorts not IMO

I actually considered this pass because it also includes Big Boulder/Jack Frost down here in the Pocono area but those two areas could not keep me entertained for the season (Camelback barely does). I think the price was around $750.00.
