I recently read a thread about best lifts in the east.
http://forums.alpinezone.com/showthread.php?p=651807#post651807
Great post! So good in fact, it made me join this forum!

But this got me to thinking: What chair has the best lift line? And I mean the trail underneath the chairs, not the actual queue.

The criteria could be: Interesting/Challenging terrain, somewhat consistent pitch for the majority of the length of the lift, and last but certainly not least a good crowd from above.

My suggestions would be something like this, (in no particular order)

Single Chair Lift Line (Mad River Glen)
Madonna Lift Line (Smugglers Notch)
Castle Rock Lift Line (Sugarbush)
Red Lift Line (Magic)
Whistler Peak Chair (Whistler)
Chair 22 (Mammoth)

I base these mostly on the lifts I personally enjoy watching other people ski from. The ones that make you go, "wow look at that kid rip!" What are your thoughts?

It is spinning for the first time this Saturday!

"And finally, the Black Chair is Back! Just in time for the holiday traffic, the Black Chair has been given two thumbs up by the state lift inspector and is ready on Saturday to keep Magic with no lift lines. So come take a ride on the Black Triple again!"

someones already mentioned the single at mrg and the castle rock chair. forerunner at stowe. since i'm a k regular, when there's bumps you can catch some bumpers skiing off the bear quad. also some very bad.

out west, i've always found the palli chair at a-basin to be pretty impressive. kt 22 express & the tram at squaw serve up some inspiring views. birds of prey chair at beaver creek runs over some of longest steepest bump terrain in the country. and though i haven't been there, bet the lone peak tram at big sky is pretty amazing.

Agreed, The Mall, Black Magic, DJ Tramline, all great nominations. North Lynx is a little mellow but you can definitely get a nice rhythm going on those bumps.

I'd give Bonnie quad at Jay a runner up status for the small mandatory air at the top followed by a plethora of bumps.

Isn't this a summertime tyoe discussion topic?

I guess given the weather this "winter", I'll let it slide :-D

Lol and its been discussed many times but hey, it beats speculating as to whether or not it will ever snow

I would have never said this before (and for full disclosure, I'm a homer just like Glenn), but my 12-year old commented how cool it was at Mount Snow to ski Lodge under the Bluebird Express. When I asked him why, it really came down to the chairs are massive, very low to the ground and just cool to look at. Plus we were ripping up the trail at some pretty good speeds and watching the chairs fly by.

If it has not been said, Black Diamond at Mount Ellen.
Add Ripcord and the Mall at Lincoln Peak as well.

Skyeship at K since it's a relaxing 12 minute ride on a HS gondola. I like Jay's tram too.

MRG single is pretty sweet, Red & Black at Magic are fun too.

Never had the chance to ski it, but Cannon tramline sure looks cool.
