Been waiting (and wondering) when someone would put forth information regarding skiing "new" skis that didn't just tweak "traditional turn teaching to fit it to shaped skis", but instead built a new approach from the ground up. Seems that book is here. Read through it twice now (great photos, too), and have been picking at it for weeks while NordicTrac-ing. My mind is sufficiently twisted now, and wrapping itself around the possibilities offered in this book. Not only is the book logical and exceedingly simple - the technique is boiled down to about 4 basic moves....but they have extensive chapters on applying this single turn technique/aproach to steeps, powder, crud, cruisers/groomed, and trees....suggesting how to tweak the basic model for each application. Remember the good old days of different techniques for different snow and pitch ? The simplicity offered regarding application sounds nice !

Granted, I haven't applied this to on snow experience....but my gut tells me something good for my skiing will result from this approach.

Check out the review section....folks seem to be psyched. Who better than a Bolton Valley boy to blow the lid off of my trying to shoehorn my old way of turning into a new equipment world that demands something else entirely for expert level success. Hmmmm.....got my work cut out for me here.

Curious if anyone else has checked this book out.....or applied it on snow.

I have it...have thumbed throw it and it is handy, but I find hands-on help to be much more effective.

.....what PSIA folks out there at your local resort are teaching along those lines ?

Valid observation.
