what;s like herding cats is if you have people in your group who are not ready to ski. the lodge just exacerbates the situation with all the distractions-bathroom break, breakfast, obligatory hot chocolate, sitting around and chatting, adjusting 100 pieces of clothing.....if you have a person or 2 in your group who is not ready to ski and takes alot of time getting ready in the lodge before you know it, 30 minutes of your limited day is over! you know who those people are, they are the ones who try to get the whole group to wait for them at every turn!

I like to hit the ground running. i like to take a couple of runs and then maybe break at an upper mountain lodge around 10:30 or so if only for the bathroom. of course these are more weekend rules than weekday rules. on the weekdays, you probably can take a little extra time if you want.

I don't ski in large groups and even in small groups, I'm very quick to break up the group. It's rare we could all ski together and crucially important to figure out a fair compromise. I always have two radios or am really quick to offer "we'll meet you at the base at 11 for a couple runs", or "well meet you for lunch at 1" or," I'll ski with you now and ski woods, then I'll come back and ski groomers in the afternoon with others."

Right where I want to be
Parking lot when at the home mountain. I actually have the kids put their boots on at home before we leave. I don't need to go near the lodge. I just put my boots on when we get there and away we go with the season passes right to the lift. If I am within 20 minutes of the mountain I have the kids put there boots on at the place we are staying. Having to lug crap in is a pain in the butt with 3 kids. The less I have to carry the better. If I am alone I always boot up in the lot.

what;s the voltage parameters for the heating unit? is it dual voltage 110-240?

can it be used in europe(220volt)? or just the US (110 volt)?

also, is it small enough to be carry on for the plane? for some reason, my bootbag is to big for international flights now. haven;t tried a domestic flight yet. I have one of those High Sierra backpack types.
