With my part time hobby of tracking snow clouds, there seems to be a void of data about whats going on in Canada until I see a cloud cross over the great lakes --

Anybody out there tracking clouds north-west of the great lakes?

I live on the border with Canada in Northern NY State nothing but rain clouds here -- theres a bunch of rain clouds nw of Lake Champlain NOW

This radar seems ok, would like to find one that differentiates between rain/snow --

Those Great Lakes would be really great if they could turn rain to SNOW!

...in August...!

If you ever try paddling Northern Canada in August...scenario can be like this = 80s during the day, then Bang...Arctic systems(low 30s = snow) come over the horizon and can mess up a day of paddling.
The weather systems way up there come from the Arctic/Siberia...but this was ~25yrs ago. Who knows what's gonna be happenning these days, but I think more instability is what the models show.
