Thank god for Southwest. Looking at a reschedule for first week of March. Hotel said conditions are really bad. No bowls open and mostly trails with green and blue ratings. Not worth it.

Lucky you that you could do that and I don't blame you.

The industry as a whole must be taking a terrible hit. I know some places have gotten theirs but honestly my local hill has yet to receive 8 percent of the seasonal average. 8 percent! Anyone that booked to Utah thinking it would be as safe as always is in for a major letdown as things are slightly better but still way behind. I don't worship models and know they can change but the next couple weeks is looking like more of the same old.

Good call. Good for SW too! I'll be out there 3rd week of March. Hoping that's enough time for winter to set in there ...

Does any place have the goods right now? I've heard New Mexico is doing pretty well, but haven't really heard much about great skiing in other parts of the country.

I think BC is doing ok. Snowmonster is/was there and was posting about powder days on facebook. I think he's been kind enough not to rub it in here.

New Mexico had a hell of a run and is sitting on a decent base but is now dry. Hell at least they have base and possiblitiy of snow in the next couple. BC seems to be where its at. I think the closer you get to there, the better the snow is. Having lived for three years in Utah and three in Colorado I can honestly say I never experienced a period quite as bad as this. 09-10 was pretty awful along the i-70 corrider so we just made the treck south to t-ride every week it seemed.

I was planning to go over to Utah at the end of Januray-beggining of feb. Watching the weather close on this one. May just go straight North. If things don't start happening around here I may just throw my passes in the shitcan and move on. I'm giving it six more weeks.....

This is just one bizarre year. I don't think I can ever recall when both east and west were hurting so bad at the same time. Its usually one or the other. Especially strange when snow cover in the northern hemisphere is supposed to be above average (its all in Russia and China). For now I keep telling myself somethings gotta change but I gotta admit my confidence is taking a hit week by week. :sadwalk: Thank god for man made snow.

Been keeping an eye on Europe for trip at end of month. They started real slow also but are coming around, hopefully we will here too. And soon. Noticed last week that upper air winds over North Pacific have changed to more winter like pattern.

There are a few resorts in southern co that are one hundred percent open, I think Wolf Creek has claimed over 200 inches so far. Ski Stef and I are going to try and get down there this week.
That's great southwest was able to let you do that, did you get refunded or do you just have a set of tickets that you have to use by a certain date?

BC is doing more than ok. Three days of pow with high avy danger in the backcountry. All that rain in Whistler Village meant great powder days up high. My friend just posted a video on my FB page if you're interested in seeing what it was like. He didn't include some of the stuff from the high alpine and glades though.
