Pretty wild summer when you step back and think about it. Dissolution of ASC; three different companies buying up the former ASC eastern resorts; each taking a different approach with their new resorts; Loon, Sugarloaf and Sunday Rover being operated by the same company; Mount Snow and Killington being owned by different compaines for the first time in many years; no more A41, nor Threedom after this year; etc. etc. Since I started this forum, I can't remember a time when so many changes were happening at once. It's certainly been interesting to watch and this season will be even more interesting. Crazy days...

The big underlying change recently is seeing holding companies owning the facilities and well known companies leasing/operating them. In large part, this is due to tax code. Since this is still a relatively new concept to New England, it'll be interesting to see how it works out in the medium to long term.

A lot of changes for sure. I'll admit that I haven't really been following all of them all the closely though since they mostly involve areas that I don't ski at all the often.

I'm mostly interested in when it's going to start snowing! ;)

We've also had 3 major hardgoods companies move to Utah in the last 16months...Atomic as of August, Rossi, Look/Lange/Dynastar last summer. Salomon moved out of Mass a few years ago and is now joined with Atomic in Ogden Utah. That leaves Fischer, Volkl, Nordica, Marker, Tecnica, Elan, Dalbello as the only big ski vendors left in NE...all of them with headquarters in New Hampshire. It was a rough year for ski retailers and manufacturers alike...some reorganizations, some tight buying...if you like your local ski shop this would be a good year to go visit them and spend a little money...get your skis tuned, check out the deals on any leftover merchandise, etc.

They are also combine with Suunto and one other I think?? Its called AMER SPORTS NOW..

Also don't forget GOODE (carbon skis and water skis) moved out to Ogden a few years back as well, but I think they were midwest...Ogden is becoming an outdoor equipment makers home now....watch the crime in Ogden though...BANG BANG....and it doesnt hold snow like Little Cottonwood Canyon, oh and its too far from me... :D
