It came up because a director at AIG has been indicted for his involvement in the scheme Viktor Kozeny ran. It's pretty amazing- don't let the length of the article deter you. I don't think someone could make this stuff up.

Great read. It is obvious that the degree to which someone can be scammed, is proportional to their level of personal greed. I only feel bad for the investors in the companies headed by these scoundrals.

IT is amazing- not just that he pulled it off once in Czekoslovakia, but that he managed to do it again in Azerbiajan. To many of the same people!
