Does The Loaf have a hiking policy? I don't think they stop people from doing it, but I could be wrong. They must have the best cover of any resort in the east. That's just sick!

yeah tucks looks good, but the loaf looks a lot better. earned turns on a very empty frontside. narrow guage will probably have the last good skiable snow on the east coast.

My father has skinned up tote road mid season (with people coming down) and no one has said anything to him (he's 76 btw).

I hiked the loaf during ski-season, I called ahead and they didn't care, they only requested that I take their snowcat road up and down if there were skiers on the trails. Obviously the route doesn't matter now that they are closed!! 8)

There is still A LOT of snow in the surrounding mountains, but its getting patchy. Still 6' deep in places and thats not an exaggeration and that not in just an "isolated" area.

C'mon its almost summer! go away snow! :snow::angry:

EDIT: oh yes, Saddleback is still throughly caked in snow much the way Sugarloaf is.

I think we have our answer to an expert mountain that would stay open late in the season!

winter just last longer in western Maine. bet that the snow pack is much, much deeper above that cloud line.

the loaf rules, but it is a looooooong drive for a few late season turns
they don't typically get plastered like this spring either

Mount Snow 5-21-07. Plus the walls of the 1/2 pipe still had decent sized piles. I could also see snow on Ripcord's headwall through the binoculars from my deck, but couldn't zoom the camera in that muc to get a pic;) Some signs of work happening by the Peak's folks too! They've demolished the old "extra" ticket sales building that was in the base area between the clock tower building and the race team building. And through the binoculars, I could see some of the mountain ops folks taking down the tower guns and hauling them away from the side of snowdance in all likely hood for the installation of tower mounted fan guns later this summer! No signs of any new cats or fan guns in and around the base area/mtn ops building yet!
