Wachusett tentative: April 1st... I think they'll make it to the 8th due to that being a holiday weekend and they have enough snow. If it sticks around there's no reason they won't add the extra week.

Hunter tentative closing April 15th now..

"Tentative operating schedule for the remainder of the season.
Here's the official scoop on our end-of-season schedule. We will remain open daily through Sunday, April 8th (Easter Sunday), and we will be closing at 4pm on Easter Sunday instead of our "usual" 5pm. We will tentatively re-open on the weekend of April 14 & 15, closing at 5pm on both days. "

Mohawk: April 1st
Crotched: April 1st
Nashoba Valley: April 1st
Pico: April 1st
Attitash/Bear Peak: April 1st

Bosquet closed on March 25th and when we drove over there on the way back from Jiminy to show my son what the mountain looked like, they had 100% snowcover. So for some places it looks like a lack of customers will do them in before the spring weather does.

What fun it was to explain to a 7 year old why a mountain is closed for the season with tons of snow on the trails:-?

Holy chit, the end is near! :(

There is always Australia  this summer. Early season starts June, high season starts July...

Wow, someone correct me but there has to be enough snow to ski at Crotched this weekend - I think they just figured that no one would show up given this weeks' forecasts.

During the meeting with management last weekend we talked about this. One member from management said after the mid March weekend the number of skier visits declines rapidly. She also said seasons pass holders were even worse than the general population! That percentage wise season pass holders did not ski late in the year. She indicated in past years in early April they were only selling 30 tickets on weekdays and as little as 200 on weekends. So it just doesn't make financial sense to stay open. But they would reconsider if skier visits increased. Sad but true. Looks like I'll be making the trek up to Killington for April skiing.

Well said, especially in lieu of the way this season has gone. Many resorts have made great strides in making up for Nov/Dec, why throw some of that revenue away in April/May.

these areas should eventually start competing a little more for passes. with the split of asc it won't be such a monopoly. i will personally pay a little more if the resort commits to the longest season possible. i know this season has been a financial disaster, but think these areas maybe take the passholder for granted a little.

i guess that's a neg. side effect of cheap passes.

no run for the record? guess there giving it back to kmart.

i was told that they were anxious to start cutting mountain bike trails and start on other projects. there already tearing up the golf course, and i'm told it will be closed this summer. this company appears to have deep pockets.
