Seeing this mentioned in the MT. Tom post, I thought it would be a good poll.

I know that I got credits as my PE requirement for 4 years of sking through Fitchburg State College. I was wondering how many others here did the same through their college.

As mentioned in the Mt. Tom thread, these lessons, for people who knew how to ski were a joke. I signed up as a beginner the first year, eventhough I had been skiing since I was 5. Unfortunately, my scam was discovered the first class when a friend who I had skied with for years at another area ended up being my instructor. I got a Easy "A" (4.0) for all four ski classes that I took...all I had to do was check in...then I was free to ski.

I went to college in North Carolina, at the beach. Not a whole lot of skiing, there.
I did excel at such physical tasks as "Keg Standing" and the 12 ounce curl was my specialty, at least until I discovered Guinness, at which pioint I graduated to the 20 ounce curl. But that wasn't for credit. Not college credit, anyway.

I'm Middlebury College alum...and a former skier of the College's Snowbowl. During J-Term (translation: take one class and SKI the rest of the time :D ) we offered ski classes for PE credit and they were quite popular. Ms. Trailboss took snowshoeing for credit during January 2002 when there was NO SNOW :x , so that made things interesting.

We also have the famous Skiing Graduation for the Febs (which Trailboss is one  ). I will be in attendence for this year's skiing graduation, which is on Saturday at the Snowbowl.

I miss my college passes! :(

Being a phys ed major at UNH I had to take a winter sports activity which was either Downhill skiing, XC skiing, Hockey or Figure Skating. Now I was on the ski team so looking at the other choices I went with figure skating (for 3 years) and was one of only a max of 3 males with 20 or so females. It was alot of fun.

Albany State used to bus us over to Brodie and Jiminy way back in the late 70s and we got a PE credit. I was a fill-in instructor, and just went along for a mid-week outing and the easy PE credit. We had a great time.....
