I just wanted to see if anyone has seen any discount magazine links so far this year. Last year I found links to get ski and Freeskier for $3 a subscription. I probably wouldn't buy those for much more, especially ski, but I enjoy checking out the pics to get stoked for the season.

I have already gotten Powder which I think is the best of the ski mags for $0.97, this was only because I got an email from Amazon with $10 off any subscription.

As I've seen this forum usually likes rankings my rankings are below of the ski magazines I've read.

1. Powder
2. Freeskier
3. Skiing
Distant 4. Ski (Last year they reproduced the Warren Miller stories from the season before)

I think we got two years of Ski and Skiing for $10 each. The offer actually came in via mail.

I'd be open to others for $3 or $4 a year. I'll have to hunt for links.

I received an offer for 3 years of SKI for $10 in the mail a couple days ago. Didn't go for it, might have if it was for Skiing.

Ski and Skiing have been coming to me free for about 8 years. Sometimes 2-3 copies at a time. I don't know why, I think maybe I once filled something out at a Warren Miller movie. They both suck (but I admit that I read them cover to cover when the come).

Several times over the years I've gotten so sick of the threatening "this is your last issue" letters that I've actually written back nasty notes along the lines of "don't ever send me your *%*$## piece of $%&*(# again". But no matter what...I can't make them stop coming.

Moral: If you want these rags just ask them for a free subscription. They need to show circulation numbers so that they can charge advertisers a premium. But be careful what you wish for....
