One of the other theads was about white camo. I thought that it would be great for poaching. But then I wondered about the general AZ croud and how many of you like to poach. I love the thrill. Like being a real criminal without the risk ( or reward ). I suppose that there is some risk (ski pass ) and some reward ( fresh tracks). Any thoughts?

Yes and I did in fact today. Karma paid me back when I double ejected after hitting a downed tree and damn near bit my tounge off along with pretty much getting knocked the f%$$ out. Be careful out there especially early season!

Hell yes. But need to do it smartly. Like not on runs where you are visible from lodges or lifts. And always look for another way in other than ducking the rope, like go around then claim studitiy.

OK, I admit I did, at Whiteface, on Upper and Lower Skyward I think ... in February 1979. I'd call it peer pressure but it was the math and biology teachers who chaperoned that HS trip who made me do it. Foot and a half of untracked and it was great (my first pow experience) except for one place where part of a trail had been newly cut and I hit a tree stump. Got to the bottom of the run and a liftie wielding a broom stopped us and told us we couldn't ski that chair the next day (it was too late in the day to pull our tix). We expressed deep and sincere contrition and regret, managing not to LOL until we skied off to head to the bus and go home that night.

I am hoping the statute of limitations has expired.

isnt this akin to asking someone if they speed or pick their nose, or fart?

of course everyone poaches. why the hell wouldnt you and why would you think you're special or living dangerously if you did?
