My gut reaction is that this seems less-than safe. I'd be surprised if it were legal. But I gather there are a number of you AZers who do this often, and consider it safe. I fully admit, I have never tried it. Wonder what the general consensus is.

Of course it's not as safe as with shoes. I personally would never do it. Not worth the risk for the 2 minutes I might save by changing into shoes.

I have to admit that while I know what Pat posted is not safe, it has been tempting at times when you're in a hurry and the kid wants to eat. Never did it, nor would I.

I'm sure I've done other things while driving (or as a passenger) that are less safe than driving in ski boots. ;)

As I stated in another thread. I'm a creature of comfort. :)
I wouldn't dream of skiing in my uggs and I wouldn't dream of driving in my ski boots.

I take it no one has had to car pool the runs in the dip and big jay before then.

I wouldn't want to drive to CT with them on, but it isn't that bad, takes a bit to feather the clutch though

While you may have been successful, you are increasing the risks.
I've seen people get large boots stuck behind the brake pedal,, jammed in between the throttle.
It only takes a couple minutes to take the boots off.

Not an option here, just dangerous. I even have a pair of hiking boots that I won't drive in because they're so stiff it makes it unsafe. Just as easy to take the boots off and drive in socks......

It seems common sense would dictate that driving while wearing ski boots would not be safe. Whats next driving while wearing hockey skates.

What if someone had an accident and the police saw that the driver was wearing ski boots. This info. would probably go in the police report. I imagine the insurance company would have a fit. It does seem that if someone stoled your shoes from the base lodge you would be better off taking off the ski boots and drive in your socks.

After a couple of beers you don't even notice that you have your boots on. Jeez, it's a chevy truck, not the space shuttle. How can people ski if they scare this easy?
