If I remember correctly, El Ninio winters in NE are usually a low snow pack event, but out west they get gobs of snow in the mountains due to the frequent Pacific storms, right?

I'm just beginning to think if I should do my vacation rental at Sugarloaf this winter or spend the money to go to Utah, Colorado, etc. The trip out west is definitely a much more expensive venture( and shorter time), but the snow can be just fantastic.

Depends on the strength of the El Nino. Weak to moderate El Nino's tend to be good to northeast. Strong ones like 1997 are bad. El Nino's boost moisture in the southern Jet stream, Hopefully we get a storm track that comes up the coast. I think we're in for a good winter.
