time is the biggest nag for me, just not enough of it. I have a girlfriend who knows how I will be if I don't get the right amount of time on the hill, so she is really supportive. Money would be an issue, so thats why I buy a season pass in the summer. If I had to pay full price at the ticket window each time I went up there would be weeks I just couldn't afford it. I probably will get a slight discount from having a season pass (5-10 days past breaking even), but overall I buy it just because I have the extra $$ in the summer and then its one less thing to get in the way during the winter.

You guys with the antagonistic wives need to figure out a trade-off. We have two small children too and I've got more skiing in since the first was born than I ever have. On days I'm not skiing, I am in full on Daddy mode. If she wants to head out solo and do whatever, she goes; no questions asked. I call it making deposits to the wife account. My ski days/trips are the withdrawals. It's all about balance and compromise.

While I am not married yet nor do I have any kids, I am on a similar plan with my girlfriend. It's easy to find the motivation to make it up to her after a good day of skiing. If I go skiing on a saturday, i clear my schedule for sunday to be with her. Only way its gonna work IMHO.

The biggest thing for me is sleep. I don't get home from work until 2:45am if I don't work ot. I don't usually go to sleep until 5:30-6:00. It's tough to go to sleep early the night before a ski trip.

The nice thing about my shift is it's 4 days/week.
