Hotels seem to have universally adopted the no liners in bathroom trash cans and I’m not a fan.

I could care less in a hotel, I don't have to clean it, but in my home every trash can is going to be lined.

Even without women, baby wipes shouldn't be flushed, and I don't want snotty tissues leaking on onto my trash can either.

Even without women  Snooty tissues 😗

Fascinating stuff.

I don't like trash cans under a sink in the kitchen. Trash cans should be in the open, accessible and used.

My last favorite was a ruby red peddle from Sams Club. Removable liner. Stainless steel with a glossy candy apple red.

Maybe it was iron?

Not so for me. Ours are in pull out cabinets but trash shouldnt be seen. Train your house mates to open a cabinet I say if you having usage issues.

fine screen I added behind it- too many burnt spots on rug.
I have a Jotul wood burning stove in my condo and a Jotul wood burning insert in my fireplace at home. The insert has a 2 stage blower and puts out ridiculous heat. No wories about hot coals and they are great for heating and Ambiance.

I had this soapstone stove at my last house. I ran it all year long. Never filled it up all the way because it would burn too hot, too long. The drawback, takes 8 hours to get up to temp. If I had stayed there was going to get the optional blower and cold air intake.

When it was -50F out I got the living room up to 85F. Good times, meow.

Dear Hawk,

You should write a poem. Its amazing not more people use blowers. :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

Yea, you put the coals around pipes and it's a phreaking [sic] blast furnace. I messed around with burning uses oil on oak, too smelly.

It's like using a waterpipe instead of a pipe. There are mechanical / thermodynamic advantages, butt, you know it.

Happy waxing season

We love our 2 pellet stoves. So much cheaper than oil. There's a nice ambience to a fire. There's a 30% tax credit for the Wood and Pellet Stoves that qualify. A great time to invest in one.

great until the power goes out and then you are out of business. Well unless you have a generator and then you are burning gas to burn pellets. I see my bother in laws unit and I listen to him about costs. I'm sorry it does not have the ambiance of wood and I am not a big fan. I get most of my wood for free if I choose to do the work.

Reminds me of my Puerto Rican ski roommate who almost burnt our rented cabin down w/ 2 very good sized Wood Stoves.

I walked in at 10pm Fri night and the stoves were both glowing red, Temp was 95 inside and the decorative bees wax candles on the wall sconces had completely melted, as he was passed out in his boxers.....

He also "cleaned" the wood stove w/ the vacuum and put it back in the closet...... Vacuum lit up and burnt thru inside of the closet....

Needless to say, we were definitely not invited back for another season...

I was on with York Village Fire. I run into buildings others are running out of.

Glowing red, not good on the verge of something horrible.

First in Last out.

Fun bunch

A super depressing film.
Crank,
There are no depressing films. This was a great flick. Kind of weird, but the guy was honest and he skated away a free man. The reoccurring church motif offered him an escape from his personal hell. Like a Demon, the father continued his FESTIVUS unfettered.

Don't go chasing waterfalls please stick to the rivers and the streams that you're used to. Although you've got to have it your way or nothing at all I think you're moving too F.A.S.T.

Relevant to (much) earlier comments in this thread - Ford 3Q23 Lightning EV numbers out today, and they're terrible again.

F-Series (gas): 186,974 units sold
Lightning EV: 3,503 units sold

Even worse? That tiny number is actually a large decline from theprior anemic 2Q23 sales (fyi, healthy launch product sales should increase, not decline).

You can simultaneously support EV technology and be anti-fossil fuel which acknowledging the truth on the ground. It's diametrically opposite from the glowing praise Ford receives in the media. RIVN isnt doing much better with only about 50,000 units sold in 2 years, and they actually have a pretty cool truck.

Currently, people just don't want these things. I'm interested to see how the upcoming Cybertruck launch goes. That thing is ugly as sin, but does have some cool nouveau features, and I suspect it will appeal to teenage boys & TSLA fanboys of the world. TSLA also benefits from the self-righteous appeal, which is a weird, but very real, aspect of EV sales.

I think people want the Lightning, just not at that price point. Best looking EV out there because it actually looks like a truck. I suspect sales would be a lot different if they were MSRPing at the original launch price. More range would help too.
