Skiing? Whats that?

I am sticking to my plan to get as unexcited as possible by telling myself there are still 3 months left. I am not checking the weather reports for any snow or frost or any potential snow making weather until the first week of November.

So all you over-zealous punks out there better not be posting freezing temp threads and stuff until then.

Stop being such a woman. You stupid Armenians are all alike.

:dunce:

I realized the depth of my jones when I was at the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA today, with my wife and son, and this is what I made with the modeling clay:

If any ski companies are looking for a ski graphic designer PM me.;-)

No jones here. I am enjoying the Fall and need to get in a lot more hiking before the snow starts flying in a month. This whole Summer I have been really relaxed about the off season and skiing next season. Last season just left me really satisfied. Not that I don't want to ski ASAP, but I am not jonesing at all.

It's been getting progressively worse in the last few weeks for me. I wouldn't call it 'full-on ski jones mode' quite yet though...

Just dropped off the boards for a much needed tune. Also dropped off my Cabrawlers and my daughter's skis to get everything mounted up. That increases the jones a bit...

Definitely not. It's kind of late this year, but you have yet to gear up and sit down to watch a full evening of ski porn.

I've been thinking about dropping my boards off to have the summer wax taken care of. Still need to find wifey skis. I was eyeballing a pair of skis online today. She would kill me if I pulled the trigger on them. The jones is bad. The little one and I watched some more ski porn this weekend, WM's Impact.

Still haven't worn any ski gear yet, but my wife has! She's worn some goggles around a few times and she was considering putting on her boots the other day too! I feel like a slacker now! I have been watching more ski porn though...

I've tried on my new ski gloves a bunch of times. I had a $100 EMS gift certificate and picked up a new pair of Marmots for cold days:

...and a pair of EMS "work gloves" for warmer days.

I had to shell out about 4 bucks.

Good Gore-tex ski gloves are important..$75 seems like alot for ski gloves..but you get alot of days out of them..two seasons ago I forgot my gloves on a 30 degree day and that was rough..I still skied about 30k of vert but I had my hands in my pockets on the lift-rides..

I spent $70 on the Marmots. Easier to swallow given the gift certificate. My last pair of Marmot were incredibly warm, but I had a few seam splits.

Darn, you ratted me out! :uzi:

To be fair, after 2 pregnancies, I'm not sure my ski boots fit anymore. I need to try them out soon to decide if they need to be stretched out somehow or if I need new ones. I don't want to wait until the last minute on that.

Our daughter is actually jonesing now at all of 2.5 years old. Brian had "Schooled" on during dinner tonight and she repeated over and over again that she wanted to go skiing...NOW. Poor girl didn't understand that we need snow first (nor do I think she really understood what skiing is, but that's a different matter).
