MONTPELIER, VT. Verizon Wireless is now the official wireless partner of Ski Vermont, officials from Verizon Wireless and Ski Vermont announced today.
Among other activities, Ski Vermont and Verizon Wireless will coordinate certain Internet, digital and social marketing efforts, work collaboratively to generate earned media, cross promote in printed material, organize events at ski areas and Verizon Wireless' retail stores, and share access to consumer events and trade shows throughout the Northeast.
"The partnership will further promote Verizon Wireless' leading products and services to Vermonters and the more than 4 million skiers and snowboarders who visit Vermont every year. Likewise, the partnership provides opportunities for Ski Vermont to attract Verizon Wireless' customers to its world-class mountain resorts," said Jason Gibbs, director of marketing at Ski Vermont.
"For many of our current and prospective customers, enjoying the freedom and peace of mind of Vermont's mountain lifestyle requires more than a personal connection to our mountains and villages-it also requires a connection to a reliable wireless network," Gibbs said. "That's why our partnership with Verizon Wireless makes perfect sense. We are aligning the authenticity and quality of Vermont's winter experience with the nation's largest and most reliable wireless network. We're confident that these lasting connections will inspire more visitors to our state and a deeper appreciation of the commitment to innovation that Ski Vermont and Verizon Wireless share."
"We are very excited to partner with Ski Vermont - a leader in brand marketing and longtime champion of the Green Mountain State," said Shakey Kessesian, associate director of marketing of Verizon Wireless' New England Region. "Today's smartphones truly enhance the winter travel and recreation experience, empowering skiers and riders to access weather and snow report apps, download trail maps, share photos and videos, stay connected with friends and family, and more - all from the slopes. We can't wait for the season to get started."
ABOUT SKI VERMONT
Vermont, a state of just 625,741 residents, is home to more ski areas per capita than any other state and hosts more than 4 million skiers and snowboarders annually-by far the most on the east coast and third in the nation after Colorado and California. Ski Vermont (Vermont Ski Areas Association) serves the state's 18 Alpine and 30 Nordic resorts in three major areas: governmental affairs, marketing and public affairs. The private non-profit trade association was founded in 1969 to foster an economic, legislative and social environment in which the state's ski industry can grow and prosper. As a result, Vermont is a premier destination for winter tourism. Ski Vermont: Winter in its Original State. For more information, visit www.skivermont.com.
