Hello everyone
I am coming to Boston on mid March for business and I thought I should have a few days of snowboarding while I'm there...
Can anyone recommend a good or few good resorts for snowboarding (I do not look for the jumping and half pipe stuff) within 1-2 hours drive? Also, any additional information will be great!!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks!! I'll look into it. Can you also think of something closer - like 1 hour or so? My hotel is in boston and I'll need to go back every day... thanks again, I really appreciate it!

Others here probably have better Ma epercience then me. Go to Stowe or Sugarbush or K or Bolton Valley all a few hours but get good snow and really good terrain any thing North or kILLINGTONW in vt. get the snow and have good fun slopes. South of K like mOunt snow or stratton or okemo get less snow. whree do you normally maek turens.

omer, there simply aren't any large resorts within an hour of Boston. What we consider 'big mountains" in this part of the country really begin about 2 hours' drive north of Boston, and include places like Killington, Stowe, and Sugarbush like others have mentioned. Within an hour's drive of Boston you will find only small places to snowboard. They can still be fun, but you will definitely snowboard the same trail twice (probably within your first hour!).

If you are willing to drive about 2-3 hours each way, I would suggest Killington, Stratton, Okemo (all in the state of Vermont) or Cannon and Waterville Valley (both in the state of New Hampshire). Places with a slightly shorter drive would be Sunapee, Ragged and Gunstock (all in New Hampshire).

Vermont areas closer to 3. Take I-93 to Waterville, Loon or better yet Cannon....all under 2 unless bad traffic.

or http://www.wachusett.com/ even closer but kinda small and crowded, still fun I suppose

The only real good ski area within an hour is Wachusett and it may be too small for what you want, but it feeds the need.

Blue Hills, in Canton, is really small but only a half hour from you, which is good for day tripping.

Wachusett is probably your best bet if you want to get a little more acreage and vertical out of your visit, but it's over an hour away and you'll have to pay for the tolls on the Mass Pike if you're not familiar with the area.

Depending on where he is he can take Route 2 all the way there. Blue Hills is tiny.
