Govonis to open

One of my favorite places to eat after a hike in The White Mountains, Govonis Italian Restaurant on Rte 112 in North Woodstock, will be open again this summer. Opening day is July 2nd.

Is that the place near the gorge?

Yes, the building sits on Agassiz Basin a narrow gorge on Moosilauke Brook. Its also across the street from the Gordon Brook Trail.

Man I love that place too! We'll probably go eat there on Sunday. Yum!

Wow, as I made my way home on 118 last night, I noticed the place and remarked to myself, "this place is too nice for here." Of course, it was tongue and cheek as I thought about how so many of the other places have gentrified themselves, especially on the other side of 93....

Govonis always used to stand apart (literally and figuratively) from other Linwood eateries. I hope it retains the old magic under the new management. Its a White Mountain "stash" you want to share.
