Hi Everyone.
I just joined after coming across this forum through Adventure Skier.
I saw a Bolt report for 2/6/11 and thought I would add a few things.
My partner and I went up for a sunrise hike in. Beautiful and a bit of foreshadowing of the day to come. It went downhill (weather-wise) from there. Our trip to the top was done via Bellows Pipe. I would highly recommend an ascent by way of the Bellows. It is a much easier grade and really not that much longer. Our trip out the weekend before made us both very frustrated - middle of the "road" bootpackers, many unleashed dogs giving chase, and people in large quantities hiking up the middle of the trail. Made for a very difficult descent. Anyway...
The trip to the top was great. Started a fire at the top as we knew there would be more people to come up.
The slide down was great! I have slid on conditions only a couple of times that were better on the bolt. The reason for that was that we got down before the liquid started falling from the sky.
At the car we decided that the day was not done....I will post a report about the next trip under a different thread.

At the race last year, someone bootpacked the center of the course a couple days before the race. For all those reading, don't! Race is tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

# 18 is skidmarks, that's the only name I recognize.

Yes that's me! I'm holed up at the Holiday Inn in North Adams after the Pre-Race Pasta dinner and a couple of PBR's. We skied part of the trail this afternoon and the conditions are very good. A wind blown powder surface that's a bit tracked up.
