So, after dinner sat night my wife and I are at the bar enjoying some spirits while listening to Lonny and Stevie D. kickin it when all of a sudden my cell phone rings. I look at the number---it’s my neighbor. Not unusual, we talk from time to time. But this was a bit odd because he works nights and should’ve been there. Anyway, he tells me he’s lost his well pump and would like to get at it when he gets home at 7AM. NOW, we already have 6” on the ground and it’s still puking out!!!!! Honestly, all these thoughts/lies are running thru my head as to how I can get out of this because I know it’s gonna be killer in the A.M., and I’m to meet the crew at 7 for first chair. But I give and tell him I’d be there as soon as he gets home. So instead of skiing in the 10” of fresh I’m pullin a well pump out w/ my neighbor thinking of how good it must be rippin Ronnies Run up right now, and feelin sorry for myself. When we were done we had a few beers and laughed at how when my pump went at least it was July!!!!

What has happened that has made you miss a powder day that you could’ve gotten out of but decided to “do the right thing”.

P.S. the gmen lost too so it was a pretty crappy day:wink:

I have missed way way too many Pow days myself. I will not lie, Sunday was a awsome pow day.

When you are Old dieing, Do you think you'll be saying "Damn I wish I worked that day instead of skiing powder." I lie, cheet and steal every powder day I can.

I told my wife NO WAY AM I GOING TO her mothers birthday party in PA. Becuase of how angry I was that I missed 2 POW days while spending Xmass there.

I GET VERY HOSTEL AND ANGRY WHEN I"M AT WORK AND IT"S DUMPING. no one understands....

Late Christmas with the in-laws this past Saturday. I probably could have snuck out around 6pm and gotten a few hours in the tail end of the storm (before it got groomed to hell), but I did the "right thing" (I think).

Camp - you made a nice deposit to the powder account. Let it gain some interest, and you'll be able to take a nice fat withdrawal soon.

I can understand being pissed having to work during a powder day, but this seems a little bit over the selfish line to me. Family first.

Reasonable. Problem in the northeast is, we don't get enough of the last two.

We all have different priorities and situations. Sorry if I came off preachy like HPD said. I thought the point of this thread was to discuss whether or not to "do the right thing" so I voiced my opinion of what that was.

Gawd I hop you're right---like you've said, we don't get many days like those around these parts
