season pass holder @ k. never buy lunch. once in a while stop at the waffle haus. I never stop for lunch during the day, I get first chair and ski into the afternoon until my body can't take anymore. Then I buy lunch on the access road.

While we're on the topic of food, I've really enjoyed lunches at

schwendi.logo.red.gif

and

the lodge at the base of North Peak at Loon (Camp 3) - Sunday brunch is pretty cool, great vibe too.

It seems that both have been able to serve something a bit better than crappy burgers for the $10 price. Honestly, a hot dog should be no more than $2. I'd also be happy with a reasonable price on something as simple as a PB&J sandwich.

GSS says that the majority of season pass holders pack and bring their lunch to the mountain. I say the majority buy their lunch at the mountain. If you are a passholder please vote.

I know this is stupid, but it’s something to do.

Also please post where you are a passholder.

A 2006-07 NSAA research report indicates:
- Target Market are those skiers and boarders with income above $30K, nearly 50% have incomes above $100K
- nearly 50% of all skiers/boarders pay FULL PRICE for lift tickets.
- 31% have a season pass
- older skiers/boarders are being retained at a higher rate than ever before.
- 53% of all visits are families, typically a high-income group.

This all suggests to me that the "average" skier, and at least a good chunk of the season passholders can certainly afford to pay these prices. Whether they do or not, may, as one writer suggest come down to the quality and offerings. I for one have started a slow move towards the full service restaurants in the lodge, where in the past I never considered them.

Another seemingly bizzarre (to me) trend is that 80% of all skiers fit into the "core" group. Of those, only half are there to ski, the remainder are there for "social reasons". (B. Tabert)

When I used to be a pass holder at Whiteface, I'd pack my lunch probably 99% of the time. Not really for reasons of cost, but for reasons of quality/variety. Whiteface Chili is good....But, not for the 40th time in a season.

Sometimes. whiteface

I usually dont eat lunch. I get there around 10:30 and ski straight through. The beers taste much better on an empty stomach.

When I do eat lunch I buy it at the mid station.

Maine pass. Always bring our lunch. Usually stop in for some hot chocolate on cold days, but that's it.

HighPeaksDrifter said a lift ticket at Whiteface and beers but I have no plans of skiing Whiteface because for the same drive I can be in Vermont...

Have you been? I've never been and would be happy to give it shot, even though I have to go through Vermont to get there. Especially with a free ticket!

I've skied Whiteface it's nice but they don't get much natural snow and only have 3 runs from the top..I'll take a free lift ticket to Stowe though..lol

Save it for the spring when you can ski the slides.

The slides are open like 2 out of 10 seasons..I'd rather spend the spring at Stowe where it's 100%..I'm not accepting any gifts from HPT..but he'll be eating crow for breakfast..lol

I've tried to let these Whiteface shots go but it's just not in me.

In another thread he said he was there, but he thought the Summit Chair went to the true summit of WF which it does not. That's something anyone who skied it could not help but know.

I called him on it and he had no answer.

There are more then 4 trails off the summit of WF, plus the summit of Little WF is 2540 ft. of vert so what's the problem?

The Slides are open every season in the late season.

I've comped AZers before and will do so again. I thought it might be a fun bet if I threw that in the pot and see what he came back with.

I don't care where anyone skis, but IMO he was ungracious in his responses to what I though was a generous offer.

I've tried to give this guy the benefit of the doubt, but I now think GSS = No Class.

You just don’t get it. When someone offers a person something they don’t want they usually find a polite way to say thanks, but no thanks. Not no it’s not good enough for me and heres why.

I started this thread and bet cause I use to feel sorry for you sometimes when you got treated like the forum idiot even though you usually brought it on yourself. I won’t make that mistake again.
