North: Stowe
South: NA
West: Hunter
East: Southington? I've skied at areas more east than that, but they were more North East.

I put directly cause I was trying to get out of the southwest thing. For sure the mountains I've skied in Colorado and Utah are further South by latitude then Hunter, but then most NE skiers would have to have the same answer for South and West.

Ok, then my revised list:

North: Stowe
South: Powder Ridge
West: Hunter
East: Loon

;)

I'd have to break out the GPS for these, but here goes:

East : probably Sugarloaf, maybe Tremblant?
West : Panorama, BC, possibly Fernie (also BC)
North : Tremblant or Panorama
South : Snowshoe, WV or Massanutten, Virginia

North - Tremblant
South - Portillo
West - Whistler
East - It would be some place in VT, but I don't know which is furthest east among Killington, Okemo, Stratton, Bromley, Magic, and Jay (I know SB, MRG, and Stowe are the wrong answers). (I have never skied in NH or Maine.)

I think Jay is the furthest east of those.

In my mind, northern New England
Farthest on a day trip: Jay Peak. Left Boston at 5, got to the mountain at 10. Left mountain at 5, got to Boston at 10. Non-stop skiing at - 25 degrees in between. Just stopped for a beer and poutine. Was so pumped for the trip, neither the drive nor the skiing wore me down -- until the next day when my body just crashed.

There's this hill somewhere in the NEK where your radio starts getting static-y. When you go down the other side of the hill, you get French Canadian radio stations! Love it when they talk in French then slip in English words.

Conversation in car after passing a freeway sign saying "Canada 10."

Friend: "Canada 10 miles. Didn't know there was a town here named Canada."
Me: "That's the country!"
