I've seen this "mandatory GS turns" phrase about 50 times in the past week. Can someone please explain this concept to me? I know it's a HS phrase, so I expect the definition to he hilarious. No one can say they're an all mountain skier without knowing how to do mandatory GS turns and grinding rails!!!!
Yes. Get there early for "First Tracks"! Nothing like super high-speed crusing on the groomers. Way to go Killington.
Escapade is filled with soft, spring bumps right now!
And letting one of the trails serviced by SS go. Day 1 will be push piles, but they'll ski in. Otherwise I really see no reason to take another vacation day mid-week.Escapade is really good. Not sure "filled" is quite accurate though. Three main fields - the upper "chute", a nice string right after the Home Run traverse which then flattens a bit. Then finally a nice longer set. The two exits to Cascade are kinda funk bumps; still fun though.
How about leaving Cascade alone for the remainder of the season? It would be nice to have one run of side to side bumps from the top to the bottom of the Canyon. That or East Fall which had some potential yesterday, but got groomed last night.

But it's about 500ft of vert, takes 2 minutes to ski, and is virtually the only place with bumps!!
And it's inconsistent with several breaks. You can laugh if you want, but Gunbarrel at Sundown is about exactly the same pitch and length of Escapade and it had continuous bumps the whole way. Surly, Killington can do better than a little molehill in CT.
Run the Canyon Quad and only half groom that atrocity that is Double Dipper. Problem solved.
Give the spring bump crowd one trail, top to bottom. One. whether it's cascade, downdraft, superstar or even one of the trails the skiers right of superstar. Skyelark, skyehawk or whatever the names are. Just one. one trail that goes somewhat top to bottom. leave it alone, let them grow huge, mammoth, man eating troughs.

Why didn't you jump into the light? Or don't you know where that is? Theres bumps in the woods.
You win the annoying award of the day. I thought I was in the running, but I concede.
I've killed enough trees this season. Why didn't you jump into the light? Or don't you know where that is? Theres bumps in the woods.
