Any idea on what the conditions are looking like for Moday? ($17 eCoupon day) I know they didn't get the best part of this last storm but I'm wondering what to expect. Thanks.
I'll let you know tomorrow...

It was of course "Packed Powder/frozen granular", and some of the services were "Hard" but on ice and all and all very skiable stuff. It got a little busy Sunday, but the snow was holding up nicely. Most of the Blues and Greens were open as well as the Foxes, Whitetail and Jerico. They were making snow on Whirl away and Exhibition. The hardest surface was on Jerico, but nobody was over there so you could let them run. All in all I think yoyu will have a good time.

I wouldn't call it busy. The six backed up a bit (maybe 7 minutes) only because that was the only summit lift running in the am. The trails didn't seem crowded to me at all - Pics from Sunday here...doesn't look crowded to me. They opened the triple around noon, but by then the wait for the six was only a few minutes. I personally thought the surface was great. Mostly packed manmade powder and some LGR. I didn't see much hardpack at all, but I usually stick to the trail sides.

Friday...

I was there on Friday and conditions were pretty good (being that there was an ice storm going on at the time. Had fresh tracks in nice "crud" all the way up to the time I left at 3p.m.

Whitetail was best suited for Ray Bourque (except on the right side which always catches some nice snow).

After I left though, I immediately took my skis to the shop for a wax and edge as I'm sure I'll need it tonight. That's okay though...once the crowds leave around 8 p.m., the mountain will be mine for some sweet bombing runs.

whatsa the matter, are you new to the northeast?

No, I've been skiing Jiminy since Nixon as president. Brodie too for that matter.

Me to. I remeber a lot of very cold nights at Jiminy Peak with snow that had been well used during the day. They are doing a lot better with their snow making and gromming these days.

redalienx11,

I was there last night too and wow, just wow!!! Folks...conditions for night skiing couldn't be much better unless it was dumping!!! Fast, soft carvable snow all over the place. Whitetail was AWESOME! Did yo-yo bombing runs from 7 right up to last chair at 10:30. Folks...these conditions for this early in the season can only be described as EPIC. Seriously.

Have to agree, Whitetail was SWEET! We did some bombers but I also took some time to work that edge under the lift. Whoo what a night. I gained alot more confidence on my tele setup. I think the longest I waited in a lift line was about hmm 5 seconds!!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this board. I live over here in North Adams, MA. I have a pass at Jiminy now, but I grew up skiing at Brodie.

I have rarely had good luck with decent snow on any of Jiminy's runs on that side, good to hear Whitetail is good.

Given Upper Exhibition's pitch, narrowness, and proximity to the lift, I think that one of the area's toughest runs hands down. Nice to see they are making snow on it.

I think I saw there last night then. I was wearing a bright red jacket, black pants and a sticker-covered helmet. Next time I think I see ya, I'll have to say hi.

ADK,

Yeah i was gonna ask if you had a bright red jacket because I saw someone with one ripping down whitetail a few times. I had a gray/red coat and silver helmet. Im hoping to take advantage of twilight skiing on saturdays this season so maybe we'll cross paths again!

Happy skiing!

The only time I can really go skiing lately has been nights, maybe we could meet up there some night. Beats skiing alone...
