Just a little excited about West Virginia's 62-24 rout of Western Michigan. WVU, my undergrad alma mater ranked #3.

'eers are now 3-0 after beating Maryland last night. Ranking has dropped from #3 to #4, as much a function of Oklahoma really shining in their first 2 games as the WVU defense giving up points to some suspect teams so far (Western Michigan and Marshall). One more test next week against East Carolina before the Big East schedule starts. Freshman phenom, Devine, is just that.......

Dr. Ski...WHERE IS THEIR DEFENSE?
Rutgers will avenge that triple overtime loss and run all over WV. While Slaton and White are INSANE they can't do anything if they don't get the ball. Look for a heavy dose of Ray Rice and a time of possession around 36-40 minutes as Rutgers upsets WV.
Sorry....but those are the facts.

I admittedly had concerns about the D, especially after the Marshall game. I think though that the defense showed a much better performance against Maryland last Thursday. As far as Slaton and White, it's a given that they're talent to be reckened with. Watch out for Devine, though....moves like a cat in the broken field.

Rutgers have made themselves look good early season by having a powder-puff schedule. Let's see what they do this week against Maryland. If I were them, I'd watch out for USF the week before WVU. They might be so focused on avenging last year's triple overtime loss (2nd best college football game I ever attended) that South Florida beats them. USF is the real deal this year.

They didnt look good at all in that Marshall game and Marshall should have lose they are winning by 7 and have a chance to go up 14 and kick a field goal instead on 3rd down, they deserved to lose, jackasses, not many times will they get a chance to take down a top 10 team and now i know why they arent one.

Big game against South Florida kicks off WVU's Big East schedule tonight on ESPN. USF moved into the top 25 with a win over Auburn a few weeks ago. Should be a tough game down in Tampa, but Mounties should prevail by at least a TD.

It'll be interesting how rankings shake out with all the upsets this weekend. Even USC, althougn a winner, didn't overwhelm anyone with their win over Washington.

All kinds of big doings in college football this weekend. USC losing, LSU beating Florida, Cinncinati beating Rutgers. Hopefully my Mountaineers can move back into Top 10. Takes some of the luster off of the WVU-RU game in 3 weeks. Need someone (UCF?) to surprise South Florida.

Finally seeing some semblence parity in college football??

I figured I'd post a reminder that WVU-Louisville is the ESPN game Thursday night. Two high-powered offenses, but only one superior defensive unit (WVU). It will be party-time in Morgantown as the Mountaineers crush Loserville. All you UConn fans should watch so you have an idea what to expect on 11/24.

If the season were to end today, UConn would get the automatic BCS bid as the Big East regular season champion. It's likelythat West Virginia would get a BCS at-large bowl invite, and probably to a "bigger" bowl than the Huskies as a function to their higher BCS ranking.

Cudos all the way for UConn's football resurgence this season. They're in a place similar to where USF was at this time last year, being seen as an "up-and-coming" program in the Big East. It will be fun to see what happens as the season plays out.

The only "problem" I. have with UCONN right now is actually ESPN :( They're using UCONN"s elevated status as a ransom to get cable providers to pick up ESPNU since that's seems to be the only channel in my local area that they're puttign the Huskies on, so much that during last weeks game the broadcasters at ESPNU studios (yes I caved and ordered it) were practically spending more time telling viewers from around the country(and not just of the UCONN game) that they need to call their cable providers and ask for ESPNU. It was really bad since apparently with the ASU game that was going on simultaneously that in the ASU/Oregon areas the UCONN/Rutgers game was on ESPN2 and the ASU/Oregon game on ESPNU and the reverse in my area

One of the best new persk that us UCONN fans have now though, especially if you live near the stadium, is that literally a 1/2 mile from the stadium they just opened up a massive new Cabela's outdoorworld store! That place is great and me and a couple of the guys that I goto games with have even somewhat seriously contemplated just tailgating at Cabela's instead of Renschler Field ;)

Good luck to your Mountaineers tonight Doc!

Last night's game certainly wasn't pretty, but it was a win.
The same penalty & turn-over bug that bit the Mountaineers in the USF game tried to undo us last night, but fortunately didn't do enough damage. I have to give Louisville credit for one of their better outings of the season. We get Cincy next, after UConn has them this Saturday. I'm hoping UConn is still undefeated in the conference when they travel to Morgantown on 11/24.
