I hear ya, .. They have had fans guns there for years. I guess it could be a new one. I guess it could be a new guy. I guess when they said it was a test, there could have been a 2nd test a few day later.. I give up. It does not mattter anyway.

See you on the slopes sooner than later.

Your right in saying none of this really matters. You will all be skiing very very soon. Possibly before me as I have so much going on in the next week or so. The long wait is almost over, fall will be a memory.

edit-I had no idea this soon. who's feeling sick?

Bah, just start tossing stuff and finish it today! :-D

Now personally, I've got a Varian superconducting electromagnet that needs to have samples run thru it by tommorow, and I'm still writing the damned software to do it.....

I want to soooo bad. My head is spinning from this moving $hit. Girlfriend would def. be super pissed (she is usually very cool but we have major stuff to accomplish). I'm trying to angle it in my head right now. I think I may pass the idea her way, then run for cover. 1-3% chance.

I don't think you're really missing much. It sounds like it's ice crusted slop that they can't put a groomer on because it will sink it into the ground. Advanced skiers only might be an understatement. It will likely soften up in the warm temps tommorow afternoon though, thus the bizarre operating hours. Atleast those who are content to put skis on and slide around no matter how perilous have somewhere to do it though!

It doesn't matter, it's some type of frozen surface (somewhat at least), that runs a good distance down a hill, and will be served by a running lift. That counts as skiing in my book.

Also, if you've ever skied any eastern area on opening day, you'd know that conditions typically are pretty much that.

You really feel the need to crap on everything don't you? Once again you're obviously not the type of person they're trying to attract with offerings like this, so why don't you just keep your condescending trap shut and let the rest of us enjoy, OK?

Here's a news flash for ya, in case you haven't gotten it yet. Most of the people here don't think like you, nor do they want to. That I know, but I can only guess that, like me, they also don't like having your negative, pessimistic views shoved down their throats every other fricken post. Enough already! We get it, you're an angry lonely little man who's upset at the world for some mis justice you feel has been served. Now that we're all clued in why don't you go peddle your BS somewhere else..

snow is snow. We have waited a long time now. For many the wait is over, expectations are low and I just want to ski.

Right on, Brian. Snowman brings the worst out in people, including a gentle giant like Brian, as well as me. Great personality trait, snowman. You've managed to suck the life out of just about every positive thread here the past few weeks. A true condescending prick with no ability to self-analyze. You've obviously succeeded in your goal and your days here are numbered, snowman; whether your choice or ours. Bank on it.

I don't think it's going to be all THAT bad. Sure, perhaps it's a burger while later of we can have steak. But hey, we're all hungry, and it's a nice lunch in preparation for a feast-full winter!

My prediction? People will have fun, and it won't be all that bad of terrain for first run October turns in New England!

I know if I went, I would DEFINITELY have FUN. That's what it's about right? I think that concept is lost on frosty.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news (hey... if I kill a thread, it is because I am presenting some facts  ), but I don't think any one was base building this past weekend. More later as I get some pictures uploaded, but that "holy cow" from Attitash is almost all completely gone. Bretton was laughable. Killington might have the edge due to their elevation, I suspect K was the only resort capable of serious base building this past weekend... but even then, after what I saw today, I am doubtful much if anything would be left at Killington by the weekend. More news at 9ish.

Agreed with bvibert 100%.

And if you are getting his response here, I'd like to see what the tgr meatgrinder has to say about this. Or for that matter epic or NS.

Seems to me you don't really do too much of the skiing, just a lot of the talking. Stop pissing on parades, lighten up or take your crap elsewhere.....if you can find somewhere....people are starting to see thru your bs and your negativity.

Either that or don't post on obvious stoke boards trying to kill the stoke, for real, there's something wrong with that.

(Rant done)
