I think we had this question already....and our response was  because I don't think Stowe does discount tix. That said, you could do Smuggs or Bolton....nearby and cheaper.

Would if I could, but it has to be Stowe. Some people I know are going to be there, and I promised to meet them.

Hmmm....well.....maybe something that could be done is to check with local places, such as The Alpine Shop, Hannaford's Supermarkets, Outdoor Gear Exchange, and Black Diamond Sports in Burlington. They USED to sell cheaper tix to Stowe and Sugarbush...Sugarbush is pretty easy to get cheap tix to...

Good luck and let us know how you come out.

stowe has cheap days such as can good day and vermonter day, iirc. i did a can good day (along with everyone else and their brother) last december that was epic for about one jackson. obtaining a stowe card is helpful for reducing price, but if you can't find one cheap or free, then it might not even be worth the savings. multiday tickets perhaps would help?

ummm, good luck!!

I was hunting around the internet trying to help out skidiva and find some discount tickets for stowe when I came across this:

http://www.stowe.com/tickets/passes.php

They actually sell season pass insurance.

Also, this year you can add optional SEASON PASS INSURANCE.
A $35 Fee at time of purchase allows for one-time pass replacement OR a one-time forgotten pass voucher. Without this insurance, replacement cost for a pass is $75. Or if you have forgotten your pass, you will have to purchase a daily lift ticket at full retail rates.

$35 for one time loss of pass? That is for a $1570 season pass, who do they think they are?

ASC takes a bunch of crap on this board and others, rightfully so in most cases, but even they replaced my GFs pass last year at no charge.

Who are the skiers paying this price and buying the 'one time insurance'?

Why not sell insurance...after all Stowe is a "unit of the American International Insurance Group AIG "

Anyone know of any place that sells discount tickets to Stowe?

I'm looking for a couple day passes.

Thanks!

Two suggestions. Take a look at this site and either call or email them to ask if their discount lift ticket program will be around for the upcoming year. Last winter we purchased tickets for Sugarbush from them CHEAP! You have to pay to subscribe to their weather forecasts and then you can get cheap tix.

Next one is eBay. A couple of years ago in March I bought a one-day lift ticket to Jay Peak for $15 or so with shipping.

BOL!

If you're doing multi-day, the Stowe Vacation Rewards program can save $. The more days, the less expensive. I also know that if you're staying overnight you can find some ski and stay packages that are not that expensive, especially if you staying on Sunday-Thursday. Otherwise I've not found real discounted single day tickets for Stowe from other sources.

Stowe used to have a "Stowe card" or something similar that you would purchase at the Spruce Lodge that gave discounts on walk up ticket prices.

It is too late now but joining a CT ski club gives access to bulk tickets that are really cheap.

Great suggestions, all! But since I only plan on skiing there one day this winter, the multi-day ideas or the Stowe card isn't necessarily right for me. I'll definitely keep checking ebay; I've bought tickets there in the past with pretty good results. Hopefully, something will come up.

I've run into this problem with Stowe before; that's why I thought I'd ask here. Seems like they're the only place who doesn't offer discounts through ski shops, grocery stores, etc.

All that said, if anyone hears of anyone who wants to get rid of Stowe day passes or knows someplace to buy them cheap(er), let me know. I need 'em by mid-December.
