I'm not one to really trash ski areas, and I'm really not as it's a great place, but I've sort of tired of Loon. We've been spending a midweek there for several years and I've just kind of had enough of it; at least for multi-day stays. I love the East Basin trails and the seeded bumps, but for the 4 hour travel time, I think we're going to try some new areas as extended stays this season.

Mountain Creek - I cannot stand the Cabriolet Gondola for 1,000' of skiing:-x

Powder Ridge - What can I say, the place sucks and after three visits the novelty has worn off.

Sunday River - Sorry, but for me it's just a northern version of Killington.

Stratton - I could care less if I never go back again, every trail ski's like the one before it.

wildcat has grown "from" me quite a bit. it was once my favorite ski area. it was a childhood favorite and i loved the gondi. it was the mountain i learned good techinque at and was the mountain i first learned bumps at. it has some great lift lines, awesome views, and cool old school trails. but it priced me out at a point when other areas like cannon were cheaper (they are pretty much all on par now) and i tired of most of their terrain offerings, there best stuff not opening much, and generally preferring the shorter drives, etc. it is a great mountain and i try to make it back to the cat at least once a season. but it just isn't the mountain i was once i love with.

Sunapee. I used to ski there every weekend until it was leased. I now ski there only 4 or 5 times a year. I find that it just keeps getting more and more crowded everytime I go. The trails don't offer that much challenge for the most part, although I do really enjoy Lynx, and I absolutely hate the new base lodge. One of, if not the, worst designed lodge I have been in.

I have to dissagree with you their. I find sunnape to seem that there is nowone their even through the parking lot is full. I like the loadge and see nothing wrong with it.

Cranmore. When I was first starting to ride it was ok. Now I absolutely hate the place. Probably the only ski area I absolutely will never go to again.

Part of the reason I hate the lodge so much is probably because I loved the old North Peak Lodge that was torn down so the new one could be built. I think that the hole in the top floor is an awful design. Sure it makes the lodge look nice, but it is a huge waste of space. Everytime I'm there the lodge is always packed and the tables are so close together it's hard to move around. If that hole was floor space it would double the usable size of that floor and alleviate some of the problems with it. I normally eat my lunch at 10:30 or 11:00 to try to avoid the crowds but it still can take a while to find a table with enough open spaces for me and my family to sit together.

Just eat at the Summit Lodge, the food is always better at the top anyway. They've also changed the configuration of the summit lodge this year to help with the flow of the people and give a little more space to eat at.

Back on topic: I really haven't found any mountain that has grown off of me. Pretty much what I preach all the time; as long as I can point the planks downhill on something that resembles snow and isn't too crowded I'm happy. But even the crowded part doesn't really bother me all that much because it usually means that some of the less used lifts are open.
