In retrospect, that title is misleading as hell, isnt it.

not really, launch pad is maybe 200' vertical with a lift that you can walk up faster then it runs. Also with the forcast for weds. looking like they could loss it all it is a good sign that they blew on something that the GP could use. Now if they had covered Yard Sale................

Does this qualify as the first to be open?

Disclaimer: Mount Snow Season Passholder and big fan of Peak Resorts ownership

I don't think they were spinning the lift (Discovery Shuttle Triple) today or yesterday. So it really can't count. But if the lift was running, even though it's small vertical, I would say they were first.

And if work wasn't so busy, my 3rd grader would have been calling in sick today with me!

I'm thinking a very strong chance that is there's some of the snow still around and/or some more made later this week that my daughter and I will check it out this weekend!

You could do the same yesterday, but I don't think it counts as first open, and they aren't marketing it as such. Just a way to go get some free turns on snow.

Bad as I am jonesin', I can't imagine driving an hour, and a half to rip up the kiddie slope ( especially since the price of Petrox is now going through the roof ). But, just in case I break down would someone please describe Launch Pad to me?

TIA
