Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum, not new to skiing. Just took a 15 year hiatus and now I'm getting back into it. I'm hoping to find some information on places to ski that may be a bit off the beaten path, smaller mountains, suitable to get my son started before we venture to the places I used to frequent in NY. It's sad to see Windham went the way of an expensive country club. I hope others don't follow suit. That is the first place I ever skied when I was 16.

Hey all! My name is Matt. I'm in the northeast for a few weeks working, van-lifing, and skiing. I joined to ask about conditions, get some suggestions on places to ski(both resorts and back-country zones), and maybe find some back-country friends to skip the resorts and stay safe on the weekends :) Have van will travel; so I don't mind driving almost anywhere in the northeast to hang out and ski with people. Epic pass holder so I tend to stick to those resorts.

I'm a good skier, but only 2 years into playing in the back-country. So some of those skills are a work in progress since they are hard to practice / hone outside of that context.

IMHO the three coolest epic resorts in the northeast are Stowe, Wildcat and Mont Ste Anne. Check them out if you haven't already.
