It's been pretty warm this week. And it's supposed to rain Fri/Sat. It could do quite some damage to the stockpile of snow, especially lower mountain.

Like you, I was contemplating going up one last time. But weather isn't terribly promising so I was on the fence. Now that I see what Jay's planning for the weekend, I'm off the fence (staying home).

Thinks are looking pretty beat up for sure! While there are definitely many trails that have good snow coverage, I am not surprised at their decision to have Interstate, Haynes and Jet open. They always end off the Jet chair. But Interstate being open is mind boggling since it offers little (unless there is still the possibility to ski over to stateside). Then I would hope to be able to ski down Montrealer to cross back over to Tram side, but Taxi is definitely shot so walking would be required!

Truth being, I've gotten a lot of days in this season. So I'm not exactly "jonesing" any more. The only reason I'm still thinking of skiing is to a large part just habit of the last 6 months perpetuating onward

On the other hand, despite the high number of days, I didn't make it to Jay at all this year. That makes me feel a bit...incomplete! Plus, I really do have a perverse enjoyment slashing through slushy bumps! :)

Still, 6 hr drive is weighing heavily against that. So is the fact this being Mother's Day weekend (I enjoy the time spend with my mother enormously)

The drive for us is about 2 hours and 15 minutes and... my mother will be at Jay Peak for Brunch and my children's mother (wife - in case you were wondering) will be skiing with us! Even if we ski a hand full of runs - I will be good! This will probably close out the season for us!

I saw some ants coming down at Sugarbush South today too..... i think they have a bit more snow than Mt Ellen. but there is something nice about Mt Ellen........

It sucks because there is so much snow out there, it's just not all in the right place... if they could plow that stuff around a bit, we could ski another few weeks I bet.

Just imagine if they took all the snow from the Traverse on Sugarbush and pushed it down Steins!!! We could ski til June.

Well, "we" are the problem.

Even mountains that has continuous coverage were starve of skiers because most of everybody had gone to golf/cycling/baseball!

Now I'm at 30,000ft, decided to splurge on the airline WiFi, hey I'm on vacation. They should include it in the $460 airfare. Spaceman is handling the trip pretty good, he scratched me going through the scanner in Binghamton, and he's done a little howlin now and then, not too much. I've got my ear buds in, doesn't bother me.;) It's pretty infrequent, it wouldn't bother me if it were someone else's cat. Oh, unlimited WiFi, $20, US Air.

They've shifted the prediction of the brunt of the storm to Saturday night, better yet, 10-16" Sat night, 5-9" Sunday day. Uber stoked!

It's too bad that one of these isn't bumped up. One bump run and one groomer for an occasional break would be good.

Hopefully, they will bump out a bit by Sunday! We plan on being there both days. It is also to bad that they are not running Bonnie!
