I'm doing mrg tomorrow. I gotta use my Champlain valley voucher, girlfriend can't ski mrg, and she's not coming this weekend. radar right now shows snow from Brattleboro to jay and everywhere in between. Mad is nearly 100% open and will catch 6" by tomorrow if we are lucky. I know it will be thin but it's the most interesting free terrain available to me tomorrow. Will probably use my max pass at killington pico or Stratton on Sunday.

Now the question is do I take 87 and come over 17? Could be sketchy in snow. I loathe taking 89 to exit 9 and backtracking. But it's safer. I've driven 17 in worse weather but it's always a white knuckle ride

Skied Mt.Ellen on Saturday and coverage was surprisingly good.
Got a clipper system coming though this afternoon/tonight...the mountains should get a fairly good shot of snow.

If you take 87 then 4 to 7 don't take 17 (can be sketchy as you said). Either you can skip 7 & continue on 4 to Killington then pick up 100 north (road most traveled). If you decide to take 7 north pick up route 73 in Brandon (Brandon Gap). This will take you into 100 just south of Rochester. There's a little short cut before you get to Brandon to pick up 73. On 7 just past Otter Valley HS before Brandon you'll see a Citgo gas station. Make a right there & it will take you into 73. Brandon Gap is better than the Appalachian Gap (17). Don't take Middlebury Gap as you'll lose time since it cuts south heading over the gap to 100. If you're going to take 7 north there's another shortcut (rt. 3) to avoid Rutland. You'd get off at the West Rutland exit on 4 to get to it. If you use it be very careful going through the town of Proctor (speed trap & make sure you come to a full stop at the stop sign in town).

Doing sugarbush tomorrow. Killington Sunday to hedge bets and it's on the way home. Will save Stowe and MRG for the hopes we get some backloaded snow after the melt next week.

Sugarbush will be very nice tomorrow, I'll be there too for my last day of the week. They've gotten probly 3 inches of powder so far today and it's still snowing

I think MRG got some rain/sleet later on Tuesday so I heard things had gotten pretty bulletproof but hopefully this snow will help

video snow report today looked pretty good, and the radar is showing snow thru at least 8 tonight. i know mount ellen is higher elevation, but generally, as goes mount ellen, as goes MRG. i'm cautiously optimistic.

Mad skied pretty damn well today. 4". Untouched lines all over the place in the trees. Enough coverage in the trees to somewhat open up my skiing. Tons of fun. Full TR to come

yeah, first time this season I went into the woods. Good snow. Obviously need a deeper pack, but it was good.

Are the woods up there safe (speaking from the perspective of those of us who dont screw around in the woods until there's solid coverage)?

Too many snow snakes for me!

if you're very precious and prissy about conditions and your bases, you wouldn't enjoy it. me, i was happy to be skiing a little bit of powder on steep tight lines, and can handle a core shot or two if that's the price to pay.

Burke has definitely lost snow since earlier in the week. I'm interested to see if the trail count starts dropping. Of course they didn't have as much as the spine of the green mountains.
