I think it's time to give the Camelback patrollers and rangers a break..they risk their lives keeping the mountains safe and with 4-7 inches expected tonight in the Poconos..you can be sure the Camelback patrollers will be up early bombing the major avalanche routes..

I understand that they are doing their job. Doesn't mean we can't bitch about it. Do you give jerkoff cops a break when they pull people over just to bust their balls even though they watch 4 people who are easily more dangerous out there go by? It's not like people get to ski for free and people aren't following rules or being completely unsafe. Besides, from what the previous 4 pages of replies read like, nobody is mad at anyone doing their job, just the WAY they do it. There is no reason to treat grown adults who either spent close to a grand on a season pass or the average skier who has to spend 100 dollars on lift and rentals just to get yelled at like a child just because they have a red coat. That's all. If they really cared about peoples safety they wouldn't OVERSELL lift tickets like crazy just to make a dime.

Dude I was being sarcastic..Rangers and patrollers should be in charge of safety and skiers responsibilty code violations..not harrassing season passholders who ski better than them.

X-linked...that was some pretty obvious sarcasm....

You sure? My memory is of plenty of avalanche bombs going off inbetween the 30 or so helicopter evacs every weekend. Its part of the mystique of Camelback, the war zone environment. Hey, if your minigolf experience is supposed to somehow be like being on the high seas with pirates, why can't your skiing experience be like being in the middle of a high octane war theatre? I see managment's logic!

Don't forget the fences. If you pretend the fences are barbed wire then the trails are the trenches. And with the pace at which there are noobies falling around you that you have to avoid, its like navigating a mine field. I like my skiing to be exciting, and while camelback may not be the steepest, tallest, or narrowest of trails, it definitely is the closest to war skiing as you can come by. And who didn't see that James Bond movie and want to out run a bunch of russians with machine guns on skis? I know I did, thats why I love camelback.
