Pats Peak AZ race night Monday Jan 9th Week 2 of 9

Weather.... Real warm and wind blowing up hill

Conditions... Wet Packed Powder

A few props go out before we even start. Tree_Skier had mentioned he may not make it this week cause of a Ski clinic he was attending. He still made it. A long day of driving and on snow work. We needed his time and we appreciate it.

Ga2ski finished 19th on Tele Gear. Just amazing.
Roark jumped up 28 places from last week. Scott jumped 12. Charlie still has that smile that we all can identify him by.

Chile needs some love with back problems.

I got a helmet.

The race took place on Twister a more mellow trail than FIS race trail where we raced last week. The coarse was cranker(twister was the correct name for the trail) and many falls and many bail outs. Tree_skier had such and event and caused him to be very mellow on his 2nd run to get a time that counted.
The format is a side by side GS. The green coarse timing wand broke on the 2nd run so manual times were used for some.

The green coarse had a real tough set of turns (4 through 6) and many lost a decent amount of speed in that area. I had a hard time seeing the last gate near the finish, but finished with no crash.

The Yellow coarse had the most blow outs with some wild ruts due to the soft snow getting moved around. A large group lost it in the area of the 4th gate. Just really hard across the hill turns needed to be made. Not all did. I found the yellow coarse faster and posted my best time on that run.

The apres ski is always a highlight for me when we do an outing. Just hanging shooting the sh--. The camera did not work so no videos were shown. I don't think it was a big deal. Charlie, Roark and myself were the last to leave just having fun.

Speaking of cameras... its become difficult to take pictures the way the format is set up cause we have been going together. No pictures no proof. :D We are happy with that.

Another great week. The results will be posted by Roark later today. We are not racing on the MLK weekend so we'll be back at it Jan 23rd. Get better Chile.

It was fun night again. As Bob said it was definitely a turny course which slowed down the Alpine skiers and helped me keep up with them.

I won't let Bob lie (even though I told him too). I didn't bring the camera as we all race in a heats right after each other. Hopefully each week we can be near the start of each run. This week we were in heats 10-12. A camera person would be great, but as Bob said no picture equals no evidence.

here is a link to this week's stats:

See you all in two weeks.

You're too darned fast Ga2!

Alas I moved up 13 more from last, not 28. But that sounds good. Hopefully I can contribute more than 1 point next time...

A few of you will need to merge Monday night's results to your profiles. i noticed this for Dave and Charlie. The reason is slight spelling chnages in your names. For example first name was being spelt Eric instead of Erik.

Also you might want to send Jaime (race@patspeak.com) an email explaining the issue and tell them what your Nastar registration number is. Well at least that is what i did.

Tree_skier and roark had a problem too that Billski explanied. I think if you send him a Pm he could explain better than I ever could.
edit
I sent charlie a Pm and gave him a head up on what to do. Roark and Tree_skiers got PM's yesterday. Roark working on his. thankx for the help GA2ski. Maybe this will fix it all.

Charlie is like Flipper..( faster than lightning... might be dating myself here.) He has already sent an e-mail to Jamie.

Glad I bought him a beer. Ga2ski, Charlie, Roark, Tree-Skier and myself have all needed mild changes. Chile and Scott are the only ones that have not needed an adjustment.

I think signing up ahead of time on nastar actually made the process worse b/c Pat's resubmitted (often including typos) so we all ahd duplicates! Oh well.

Thanks for the beers Charlie and Bob R!

If you guys ever need a sub....

Thankx you can register on line for the virtual Az team so you could be kind of involved, just not as part of out Monday deal, but you are welcome to come take a recrational run with us.

We would still like your help at Cannon on Feb 11th though. register at www.nastar.com for racing... use az virtual team as the club registration name. Any question pm bilski. He is all over it.
